Niamh, a "lady" {{{snigger!!}}} whom I have never met in real life sent me a beautiful package today with some lovely stuff she bought for me while on holiday in America. Myself and Niamh have kept each other company over on the Cara Craft Supplies forum during many's the long cold night!! She really is a super lady and Leah can't wait to meet the real Cowgirl Neeb!

It's the weekend!
Well folks, it's the weekend again, thank God! Quick post before I head off to Mag's house for a few bevvies.
This has been a good week.
*No one is sick
*No one broke any bones
*No one broke any windows
*The kids live to tell the tale for another week
*Aforementioned kids both had eye tests this week and have definately not inherited Mommy's lazy eye. Yippee!!!
*No one tailgated me
*No one pulled into a space I was indicating to go into
*I had lobster for dinner. Followed by profiteroles and rose wine.
Yes, I'd say all in all a good week! I also got the hang of our webcam so I've been bombarding my big sis Karen (she's not fat, just older than me!) with video's of the kids!! Man, remember not that long ago when we used to wait for letters in the post? Send away films from the camera and wait weeks for them to arrive? Now I can record the kids and within 5 minutes (depending on photobucket...)my sis is watching them on her screen. OK, granted, she only lives down the road from me but thats not the point. If she was in Australia it would be the same. Karen, fancy moving to Australia????!!!!! Actually, no, we'll send Seona, she never babysits.... (Kidding Seo!) Don't think she reads this anyway. Too busy faffing about on Bebo!! Seriously, we've come a long way. I was 16 before I used a computer. Our school got a few and we used to take classes. No internet though. That came later. In college. I used to sneak into U.L.'s computer library (I was in the RTC but I had "contacts" in UL wink wink!)and thats where my love of the internet started at the grand old age of 18!!! Now my 8 yr old son is showing me stuff!!! Anyone heard The Chipmunks sing. Check it out. Soooo funny! Thanks Cathal x
Posted this today on CS forum. It made me laugh out loud. Enjoy!
MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME
1. My Mother taught me about ANTICIPATION...
"Just wait until your father gets home."
2. My Mother taught me about RECEIVING....
"You are going to get it when we get home!"
3. My Mother taught me to MEET A CHALLENGE...
"What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you! Don't talk back to me!"
4. My Mother taught me LOGIC...
"If you fall out off that swing and break your neck, your not going to the store with me."
5. My Mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE...
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way."
6. My Mother taught me to THINK AHEAD...
"If you don't pass your spelling test, you'll never get a good job."
7. My Mother taught me ESP...
"Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you're cold?"
8. My Mother taught me HUMOR...
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."
9. My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT...
"If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."
10.My Mother taught me about SEX....
"How do you think you got here?"
11.My Mother taught me about GENETICS...
"You're just like your father."
12.My Mother taught me about my ROOTS...
"Do you think you were born in a barn?"
13.My Mother taught me about WISDOM OF AGE...
"When you get to be my age, you will understand."
14.And my all time favorite... JUSTICE...
"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you....Then you'll see what it's like."
That's enough for now. G'night folks!!! Thanks for stopping by. x

Altered envelope backs!
The super talented Kate gave a class this week on the ScrapWest blog. I had great fun making this and boy did it feel good to be crafting again!!
I used the Pheobe paper pack from Basic Grey to cover the "pages" and stuck a few bits n bobs onto it. I'll either add more tomorrow or let the recipient do it herself.
Thanks again Kate! Your a star!!!
Sorry, again the pics are not showing fully. If you click on the picture you'll see the full image. Thanks!

Driving etiquette
If I am sitting on the road with my indicator pointing in and you are coming towards me, I am not, in actual fact alerting you to a space that has just opened up in the very small car park that is our local shop. Seriously???? Did you think I was waiting for you to waltzt in?
UUUUUggggghhhhhhhhh, this makes my blood boil. There are not many things (apart from obvious stupidity which I have covered before) that annoy me about driving. If I'm stuck behind a car that I can't overtake I don't get annoyed. I stay there. If I am stuck behind someone who refuses to turn off his headlights, I pull over and let the asshole go, if someone is on my ass for no reason, yes, I turn on my fog lights(thats only happened once-dyno truck, I'm onto you!!)but I will let them go.
The parking in Carraroe is awful. So awful that I have started going to our other local shop (not so much selection as SPAR but at least you can park)
The same day of the waltzing in at the shop, the same happened at the chemist. There are 4 parking spaces, a bit of road space on either side, and again I was sitting there with my indicator on.......Van, delivery.....long story short: car left where it was (off the road but not not properly parked)
Me thinks planning commisions need to get their thinking caps on before the next installment of buildings opens up.
Any amount of buildings going up but no thought as to parking. Or playgrounds/activity area'setc.
Might have some news as to the playground next week. Fingers crossed and drive carefully!

Living will
Last night a friend and I were sitting in the kitchen and I said to her, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'
So she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my wine.
Bitch!!!
Thanks Isobel!!!

And the saga continues.....
Yesterday:
8.50 am-wave Cathal off to school perfectly fine and dandy.
9.15 am-"ring ring, Neasa, it's the school, come quick, somethings wrong with Cathal"
He fainted in his seat and fell to the floor banging his head in the process. His temperature shot up and he was surrounded by 4 teachers swaddled in wet cloths when I arrived. He then starts vomiting. I rush him to the doc to be told it's a "virus"
11.30 am-"If I have to tell you to stop hopping on the settee once more I'm sending you back to school, I don't care if you saw a bright light"
What's next I wonder? Bubonic plaugue?

Bad, bad blogger....
People like me shouldn't be allowed to have a blog! In my defence, I've had a poorly little cowgirl who just can't seem to shake her ailments. Long story short: croup, chest infection, vomiting, temperature of 103.8......God Bless the makers of Neurophen for Children.
Anyways New Years Eve party went great. Put it this way, there was only one plastic microphone so kitchen utensils and hairbrushes were in full swing. Not only is there photographic evidence (which I'm not showing out of fear of legal action against me) but some smart arses were sober enough to remember they could tape with their mobiles....Cats, mating, on hot coals, you get my drift!!!
These are 2 notebooks I made for Cathals teacher for christmas. I used the Once Upon a Time paper stack. Such beautiful papers to work with

And here's Leah in her Naoinra christmas play. Oh the irony, she played an angel. I nearly choked when she came out!!!
And The Missus showing her true colours!!! Man her hair looks really red in that light!!
This is a card I made for a friend who has had her 3rd daughter. I figured pink wasn't high on her list anymore....
Leah is dying to see her friend's new baby sister. She keeps asking me "Is she this small?" I keep telling her "No, she's not a tadpole" I think she might be a bit disappointed when she sees her.....
....for some reason that this technophobe doesn't know, the 2nd and 3rd photos of the card is only showing some of it. If you click on the pictures you can see the full card....
